About Us
Scotiaderm is a Canadian health innovation company developing evidence-based products for moisture-associated skin damage (MASD), a skin condition that disproportionately affects vulnerable and sensitive populations. Our first go-to-market product is a novel and all-natural barrier cream designed to target digestive enzymes and relieve the symptoms of MASD. As one of five startups selected for investment by Natural Products Canada in 2025, we’re at an exciting stage of growth—and we’re looking for a dynamic graduate student to support a key milestone.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a motivated Master of Business and Administration (MBA) student—or a student in a similar program—to support a proof-of-concept market study for our lead product, Dermategrity Barrier Cream. This is a short-term, flexible internship (September-December 2025) ideal for someone looking to apply their skills in real-world product development and commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct primary and secondary research on market need, product positioning, and stakeholder dynamics
- Assess the competitive landscape and identify potential differentiators
- Support stakeholder outreach and interviews (clinicians, procurement, caregivers, etc.)
- Help define value proposition, pricing insights, and go-to-market strategy
- Deliver a summary report and presentation for internal use and investor communications
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled (part-time or full-time) in an MBA, MBS, MPH, or related graduate program
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience or coursework in market research, business development, or health product strategy
- Comfortable working independently in a startup environment
- Technologically proficient in Microsoft and Google suites; experience with various project management/educational/data collection software (ClickUp, Loom, Canva, JotForm) is an asset
- Passionate about health innovation and natural product development
